Shiraz, the cultural heart of Fars with a history of more than 2,500 years, is the main destination for tourists. Clay tablets of Persepolis date back to the old historical era indicating Shiraz as a glorious city before Islam. This city, which is located in the southern mountains of Zagros, has become known as the city of flowers and poets with its pleasant climate.

Persepolis

The Persepolis is one of the largest, most magnificent, and most beautiful historical complexes in Iran and the world. The vastness and antiquity of Persepolis amaze every tourist. According to historians, Persepolis was the seat of the Persian kings for about 200 years until it was burned in the attack of Alexander the Great in 330 BC, for that reason most of the palaces and mansions of this complex were destroyed.

Pasargadae

This complex includes structures such as the Mausoleum of Cyrus the Great, Pasargadae Persian Garden, Gateway Palace, Audience Palace, etc. One of the most significant monuments in this complex is the Mausoleum of Cyrus, the king of Parsia, who is much cherished among the Iranians. Pasargadae was located in a large green garden during the Achaemenid period.

Nasir-Al-Molk Mosque

Nasir-Al-Molk mosque is one of the outstanding monuments of the Qajarid era, also known as the Pink Mosque. The fame of this mosque is due to its eye-catching pink tiles and Muqarnas art. Over the past years and decades, this mosque still has its charm and its architecture is incredible.

Karim-Khan Citadel

Karim Khan Citadel, the royal palace was built by the ruler of Shiraz, Karim Khan. He invited the most skilled masons, architects, and artists of that age to Shiraz to construct his palace. The height of the walls of this citadel reaches 15 meters to show its glory and stability.

Qavam garden

The Qavam garden was constructed between 1257 and 1267, parallel to the reign of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. This mansion and its mesmerizing garden are decorated with distinct flowers and orange trees. Its application was as Dar al-Hukoma or a place for political affairs and meetings with representatives of foreign governments. There are small rooms around and behind the mansion, upon entering, we will be immersed in mosaic and mirror work.

Maharlo Lake

One of the natural and spectacular attractions of Fars province is Maharlo Lake; the area of Maharlo Lake is about 600 square kilometers. The Elevation is around 1500 meters above sea level. The average depth of this lake is around 50 cm. Maharlo Lake is also known as the pink lake and the reason why this lake is pink and red is the growth of a kind of algae called Donalilla salina. This lake is a fabulous place for snapping incredible photos.
